The HT7991 can operate with an input voltage range of 2.6V~5.5V and can output up to 12V. By using an integrated low impedance power transistor, with impedance down to 0.2Ω the device can obtain high-efficiency ratings of up to 90% at 5V/1A.

The integrated 1MHz frequency switching allows the use of smaller inductor values. Another advantage is its ultra-low standby current of only 0.1μA. A complete range of protection mechanisms include soft start function when power on, input under voltage lock-out (UVLO), over current protection (OCP), output over voltage protection (OVP) and over temperature protection (OTP), which combine to ensure the reliable and safe operation.

The device is available in a SOT23-6 package type, which makes it suitable for small size applications.
