The device range utilise a high performance 1T Pipeline architecture 8051 CPU as their high speed processing engine, and include a multi-channel 12-bit resolution high speed A/D converter along with a Programmable Gain Amplifier, providing a complete embedded system SOC platform.

The internal features of the devices include a Program Memory capacity of 16K x 8 up to 64K x 8 bytes, an SRAM Data Memory capacity of 1280~2304 bytes and internal PLL to dynamically optimise microcontroller operation and minimise power consumption. In addition to a crystal oscillator, the devices also include a fully internal high precision RC oscillator with a 3.6864MHz frequency.

The devices include fully integrated UART0, UART1, SPI and I2C interface functions, 4 Timer modules, in which Timer2 supports a 4 channel PCA and which provides compare and capture functions. They also include a 12-bit A/D Converter with the added benefits of an integrated PGA and 12-bit DAC.

These new devices come supplied in two package types, 48-pin and 64-pin LQFP, which together with the abundant range of flexible hardware internal resources, can be used in a huge range of products which include precision measuring instruments, health care, white goods, industrial control, card readers, home security products and car alarms etc..

Holtek also supplies a full suite of excellent hardware and software development tools which include a hardware in-circuit emulator and e-WriterPro writer. Both ICP (In-Circuit Programming) and IAP (In-Application Programming) functions are supported providing a means of easy program updates and development. Holtek also offers a range of application guides to ensure developers have their designs up and running in the shortest time possible.
