The CODEC also provides a power efficient stereo Class D speaker driver and Class G headphone driver along with powerful headset detection circuitry, which supports jack insertion / ejection, microphone detection, distinct key / short key / long key / key release detection, microphone presence detection, speaker impedance detection, headphone crosstalk detection & suppression.

The advanced on-chip signal processing engine that includes programmable dynamic range compressors (DRC), 5-band parametric equalizer (PEQ), and high pass and notch filter blocks, can maximize audio quality and eliminate any undesirable frequency components.

With its very low power consumption in all key areas, highly flexible power management configuration options, advanced graphical evaluation system and reference audio CODEC driver for Android and Windows OS, the NAU88L24 simplifies designers’ efforts and gets their products to market quickly.

Nuvoton, a former subsidiary of Winbond Electronics Corp, has been shipped for more than one-billion voice and audio chips in the last twenty-plus years. The emPowerAudio line was developed to help designers worldwide to successfully develop high-fidelity audio applications, at price points that will fuel growth in high-quality audio in an every-broadening range of portable devices.

"The NAU88L24 reflects a new strategic move by Nuvoton in the high-volume, high-growth mobile audio markets, building both on our two decades of providing silicon to the speech and audio markets, and leveraging our proven cost-effective product design and manufacturing capabilities to support our worldwide customers” said CS Lin, vice president of marketing at Nuvoton. “We’re excited to offer our tablet customer a high quality audio solution with feature-rich headset detections to emPower great user experience.”
