For frequency control operation, which is a key feature of wireless power transmission, as the device includes a high resolution frequency output, it can provide excellent power control output stability. The fully integrated power control current measurement and demodulation circuits simplify greatly any required external circuitry, resulting in lower costs and smaller circuit board areas.

Protective features such as over current protection, over voltage protection, over temperature protection and foreign object detection, are fully implemented to provide a full range of necessary protection functions.

For the LC tank driver control, in addition to the usual solutions whereby the power MOS is driven using an external gate driver, this device includes a fully integrated full-bridge-complementary PWM drive output.

This driver also includes a dead-time adjustment function which can directly drive the Power MOS. These features combine to remove the need for an external gate driver and thus reducing external components costs.

Regarding other features, the device has 4K x 16 of Flash Program Memory, 128 bytes of RAM Data Memory, 64 bytes of Data EEPROM, a 4.0V~5.5V operating voltage range and an operating frequency of 20MHz.

A crystal oscillator or a fully integrated internal high accuracy RC oscillator is included along with an 8-channel high speed 12-bit analog to digital converter. As for timer functions, the device includes two multi-function 10-bit Timer Modules.

The device also includes a frequency generator, current measurement circuit, over current protection circuit, demodulation circuit, a full-bridge-complementary high drive PWM output and an I2C interface.

Both Low Voltage Detector and Low Voltage Reset functions are also included, which can be used to generate a warning signal or generate a reset when the power supply voltage falls below a fixed level. These features combine to provide additional safeguards to ensure stable operation under low power supply voltage conditions.

The device is available in a 28-pin SSOP package type and will see popular use in the Wireless Charger application area. As is the case with other Holtek 8-bit MCU devices, this device meets with industrial specifications and has excellent noise immunity characteristics.
