Powered by a dual-core Freescale i.MX6D 1 GHz system-on-chip (SOC) processor, TREK-733L features a 7” capacitive multi-touch TFT LCD display, 1 GB of DDR3 memory, as well as built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n, WLAN, GNSS (GPS/GLONASS), and LTE/HSPA+ capabilities that facilitate high-speed data processing/transfers for real-time communication and remote management. Compliant with MIL-STD-810G standards for shock and vibration tolerance and compatible with 12/24 V vehicle power, TREK-733L’s rugged design provides assured durability for extreme in-vehicle environments.

The built-in backup battery pack (3.6 V, 2400 mAh) ensures an uninterruptable power supply for constant connectivity and emergency data transfers. Equipped with an MRM SDK and Android 4.4.2 operating system, TREK-733L is a robust and highly customizable mobile computing platform that provides the ideal in-vehicle solution for law enforcement, emergency services, and public transportation fleets.

TREK-733L features a Freescale i.MX6D SOC processor, DDR3 memory, and 7” TFT LCD display panel with the ruggedness to satisfy military-level standards (MIL-STD-810G and 5M3) for shock and vibration tolerance. High-density I/O including a SIM card, uSD card, mini PCIe, RS-232, USB 2.0, Ignition, DI, and DO ports are located at the rear of the device for convenient access and easy maintenance. TREK-733L is also equipped with two video input ports that enable side and rear-view support for vehicle reversing maneuvers. The independent video decoder allows for instant imaging without waiting for system bootup.

Rich built-in RF features including WLAN, WWAN (GPRS/HSDPA+/LTE), GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi technology, support vehicle tracking and positioning, real-time data transmissions, OTA updates, and seamless communication. Thus, TREK-733L offers an intelligent platform for collecting vehicle diagnostics and driving data, such as engine speed, braking, and fuel levels, allowing fleet managers to assess the vehicle status and conduct real-time driver behavior management.

In the event of low vehicle voltage or power fluctuations, the built-in backup battery pack (3.6 V, 2400 mAh) can power the system for up to 15 minutes under normal operation. This prevents unexpected system shutdowns and data losses, and allows the control center to remotely access the terminal in emergency situations using WWAN/WLAN.

To satisfy demands for application-ready packages that satisfy vertical applications, TREK-733L is designed as an open-platform and equipped with Android 4.4.2 to enable easy installation and integrations with existing systems. TREK 733L can also be integrated with additional peripherals, such as external antennae, a tire pressure monitoring system, temperature/humidity sensors, and cameras, to increase functionality and satisfy specific application requirements.

To enable software development, TREK-733L is equipped with an MRM SDK that provides programmatic access to all hardware interfaces and internal modules, such as the power management module, enable/disable functions, digital input/output controls, brightness control, and hotkey functions, eliminating complex programming for low-level system commands.

Using the MRM SDK package, system integrators can more efficiently develop application programs, evaluate platform performance, add peripheral accessories, and provide post-installation maintenance support. Furthermore, by using the captured vehicle diagnostics and parameter data, user applications can be configured to respond to specific event triggers, optimizing operations for increased productivity and efficiency.

For taxi fleet management, TREK-733L offers the most precise GPS technology available on the market. This not only enables real-time dispatch and route optimization, but can also reduce fuel costs by up to 17%. Meanwhile, the video input ports allow for in-vehicle driver and passenger monitoring, offering fleet owners protection from liability litigation. To enable advanced taxi applications, TREK-733L can be integrated with diverse periphery systems such as a fare meter, ticketing/payment system, emergency assistance button, and/or card reader for enhanced service.

For cold chain management operations, TREK-733L can be equipped with a driver identity card reader, temperature/humidity sensors, and a rear door sensor with a camera to facilitate vehicle diagnostics data collection for protection from liability, location positioning for fleet tracking and real-time traffic updates, driving behavior and productivity monitoring, as well as temperature monitoring for quality control purposes. Finally, in addition to its target applications, TREK-733L can be adjusted to suit additional applications and customized for IoT compatibility.

With the ruggedness to withstand extreme environments and deliver reliable high performance, Advantech’s innovative TREK-733L mobile data terminal provides a comprehensive all-in-one in-vehicle mobile data terminal that supports diverse fleet management functions and can enhance operational efficiency.
