Designed for medical-related applications, HIT-W121B is certified to EN 60950 and EN 60601-1 standards to guarantee compliance with even the most critical requirements of healthcare environments. The system’s fanless design and IP65-rated front panel (the entire system is IPX1 rated) ensure quiet operation and advanced infection control. Electrical isolation was also implemented for operational safety and reliability.

Power over Ethernet (PoE) technology is another special feature of HIT-W121B. Compliant with IEEE 802.3at (25W) standards, the system maintains a reliable and efficient power supply. PoE allows hospitals to install HIT-W121B without the installation of additional electrical infrastructure.

Hospitals can also take the advantage of the scalability of PoE and easily install multiple terminals in a ward. The provision of an uninterruptable power source makesHIT-W121B ideal for healthcare applications, such as nurse calls or bedside information terminals.

Advantech’s high-performance HIT-W121B terminal features diverse peripheral options that enable total integration with existing hospital systems and processes. The operating systems supported include WES7/8, Win7/8, Linux, Fedora 13, Ubuntu, and Android 4.4.

In addition to an AF 5M camera, RFID module, removable smart card reader, and VESA mounts, optional peripherals such as a handset (with VOIP compatibility and dual audio codec support), TV tuner, table stand, and barcode scanner are available for integration. Users can also request an anti-microbial Gorilla Glass touch screen, according to their usage requirements. Regarding assembly and installation, HIT-W121B can be easily wall-mounted, table-mounted, and cart-mounted in multiple locations within a hospital.

With the wide range of optional modules available, HIT-W121B can be employed for various applications and uses; for example, as a bedside information terminal, nurse/emergency calling system, pharmacy information system, mobile nursing cart, and even a self-service kiosk. Besides hospitals, HIT-W121B is also suitable for healthcare-related environments such as treatment centers, elderly care facilities, and fitness centers.
