Axiomtek's First Pico-ITX SBC with 6th Generation Intel Core CPU

Axiomtek introduced PICO500, an extreme compact pico-ITX embedded board supporting 6th generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3 & Celeron processor (code name: Skylake). The tiny PICO500 supports one 260-pin DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM slot with up to 16 GB system memory capacity. Its pico-ITX form factor offers a good solution for an extremely compact performance system; meanwhile, the industrial motherboard is built to withstand wide temperature conditions ranging from -20°C to +70°C (-4°F to +158°F) with active thermal solution.

The newest PICO500 is compatible with two optional I/O boards; the AX93275 and AX93276 for additional HD audio, USB 3.0, PCIe x1, DDI, and UARTs interfaces. One HDMI and LVDS with Intel integrated GFX graphic engine delivers Ultra HD 4K display support. The super compact-size 6th generation Intel Core-based pico-ITX motherboard is a perfect fit for vehicle PCs, small media entertainment systems, industrial automation systems, medical imaging, gaming, and other Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) designs.
“The Axiomtek PICO500 employs the 6th generation Intel Core processor that provides the best balance between performance and expandability. It combines all advantages for customers who need an embedded board with extreme small form factor, flexible configuration, rich I/O, and high performance,” said Michelle Mi, product manager of Product PM Division at Axiomtek.
The durable PICO500 comes with advanced connectivity including one USB 2.0 ports, one gigabit Ethernet, HD audio, HDMI, and 18/24-bit single/dual channel LVDS. Considering various demands and networking requests, the tiny embedded board comes with one full-size PCI Express Mini Card on the rear side. Its storage interfaces include an SATA HDD and mSATA support on the PCI Express Mini Card slot. To ensure reliable operation, the small form factor embedded board supports watchdog timer and hardware monitoring.
