Dedicated for networking system applications, the HT45B0003 and HT45B0005, by using the power lines for data transmission, can greatly reduce the amount of cabling required between the network master system and sub-systems. By reducing the networking for both power and data to only two lines, reductions in external components and improved sub-system stability can be achieved.

The HT45B0003 includes an internal 3.3V LDO while the HT45B0005 includes an internal 5.0V LDO. Both include a voltage detector, which ensure that the LDO output only appears after the power supply voltage is established.

For data reception, voltage data on the power lines can be demodulated and converted to 3.3V or 5.0V signals for processing by interconnected sub-system MCUs. For data transmission, MCU signals can be modulated and transmitted to the master system via the two power lines using a constant current modulator.

The devices are supplied in 8-pin SOP package types which offer an optimum of low-cost, small-outline and high-performance suitable for a range of networking system product solutions such as smoke detectors, water meters, etc.
