Taiwan's information service and software market value is projected to arrive at NT$256.7 billion (US$7.9 billion; US$1 = NT$32.5) by 2018, up from NT$216 billion (US$6.65 billion) in 2014, with a respectively CAGR (Compound Annual Growth Rate) of 10.3% and 21.2% from 2013 to 2018, according to MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute).

The information service market contains three service segments: system integration, IT outsourcing, and cloud; the IT software market also comprises of three service segments: embedded software, packaged software, and enterprise software.
The demand for information services and IT software is expected to grow steadily in Taiwan. This is because Taiwanese enterprise users in the manufacturing, finance and logistics sectors are dedicated to expanding their market share locally and globally, in particular emerging markets such as China and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).
Furthermore, as the market continues to promote the importance of Personal Information Protection Act and International Financial Reporting Standards, the adoption of information services will likely to increase in Taiwan, according to MIC.
