Loss Below 3%, ASE:Disappoint! Will Improve A.S.A.P.

[ Kaohsiung , Taiwan ] ASE Kaohsiung K7 plant was ordered to shut down on Friday by Kaohsiung EPB. Chief Financial Officer Dong Hongsi said K7 plant is the main base for flip chip packaging , testing and wafer bumping process , the monthly production capacity close to $ 58 million , of which $ 40 million non- wafer manufacturing, $ 18 million for the wafer manufacturing plant sales accounted for approximately 9% of our total revenues , of which the proportion of revenues to approximately 2.79% of total wafer manufacturing .

During the lockout, Dong Hongsi pointed out , it may potentially lose USD$ 18 million per month for the company , ASE will endeavor to minimize the impact of current events of the customers. ASE has started to actively communicate and coordinate with customers , try to maintain mutual trust and cooperation relationship.

Dong said ,there are about 5,000 employees work in K7 plant, mainly in technical workers, are valuable asset to ASE, ASE will try to reduce the downtime, and shall pay wages to ensure that employees' rights.

On wastewater treatment, Dong said , ASE will invest NTD$750 million to accelerate the completion of the first 20,000 tons water recycling plant in Taiwan, expected to begin operation on the second quarter of 2014, run with the highest standards of wastewater cleaning.

In the future, ASE will donate at least NTD$ 100 million each year for at least 30 years in Taiwan to promote environmental protection activity to fulfill corporate social responsibility, Dong strseed.
