FITI Encourages Innovation and Startups

TAIPEI, Taiwan — When innovation meets startups, Taiwanese government does their best to encourage innovative startups and conducted a project entitled with “FITI” that literally means “From IP to IPO”. There's a 2013 second round presentation held on Wednesday, where 14 FITI innovative startups were presented.

Taiwan ranks No. 7 among 120 countries worldwide based on the 2014 GEDI Index, which means Taiwan is an ideal and suitable place to run a business. “These 14 innovative starups are selected from 211 FITI teams and instructed by mentors. Most important of all, their mature business modles are worth investing,” said Luo Qing-hua, president of National Applied Research Laboratories.

Flex Wave and Yin Shi Li are two innovative startups that aiming at the usage of solar energy and transparent conducting thin film relatively. Zhou Jun-xian, co-founder of Flex Wave, he indicates that owing to the patented technology so that can absorb weaken lights to become energy. “We hope to become part of the supply chain in solar energy industry, providing our patented technology to customers, transforming solar energy into end products.”

Zhou Ya-hui, co-founder of Yin Shi Li, she states that since the cost of Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) conducting film has risen, finding out the substitute and offering advanced materials have become the Yin Shi Li's goal, and she's convinced that they are making progress.

Graduation equals unemployment? Most of the 14 FITI innovative startups' members are students. Action speaks louder than words, they will surely be employed, or even offer job opportunities for others.
