TAIPEI, Taiwan — element14 in conjunction with RIoTboard.org today announced the launch of the official community website for the RIoTboard. The RIoTboard is an open source development platform based on Freescale Semiconductor’s i.MX 6Solo processor that delivers a fully-featured single-board computer.

It enables developers the freedom to design Android and other open-source projects that demand the processing power and expandability needed for applications like HD video, high-bit transcoding and encoding, gaming applications and real-time sensing.

The RIoTboard.org community serves as the launch pad for innovative open source projects to enable the Internet of Things (IoT). Designers are encouraged to join the RIoTboard revolution at RIoTboard.org, where they can buy, design and register their projects. Users will also gain quick access to getting started video tutorials, technical resources such as full schematics, Linux and Android software, and join in discussions with the online community of passionate RIoTboarders.

Priced at S$94.80, the RIoTboard is available from element14 in APAC.
