Taiwan Plays an Important Role in OCP Development

TAIPEI, Taiwan — ITRI (Industrial Technology Research Institute), Taiwan's largest and one of the world's leading high-tech R&D institutions, and the Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation, today proudly announced the opening of the ITRI OCP Global Certification Testing Center at the ITRI OCP Grand Opening Forum.

The new center will provide global validation service in support of OCP Foundation's vision for open sourced hardware.

The ITRI OCP Certification Testing Center offers a unique combination of technology know-how, non-profit status, and geographic proximity to key vendors in support of the OCP ecosystem worldwide and has already conducted OCP's first global certification. Being a trusted and knowledgeable partner to both OCP buyers and OCP vendors worldwide, the new center is a key anchor in promoting the adoption of OCP solutions.

A leading contributor and primary maintainer of OCP Certification Packages, this center will be actively engaged in both technical and policy setting processes within the OCP Compliance and Interoperability (C&I) Community.

“We continue to see companies in Taiwan play an important role in this growing ecosystem,” said Dr. Shyu Jyuo-min, ITRI President. “With the opportunity to buy certified products, the total available market for OCP products will grow significantly. ”
