ELAN Microelectronics indicated that this patented technology involves a touch-screen control IC’s package outline. Due to the trend of touch devices with narrow bezels and structure for Ball Grid Array (BGA) package of integrated circuits, ELAN has developed a long and narrow package structure, further overcoming its tendency to warpage problems during the manufacturing process.

ELAN Microelectronics also emphasized that this patented technology can meet the demands for narrow bezel by adjusting the aspect ratio in the touch IC packaging outline, so that the touch screen control module and the touch control IC can fit a narrow bezel design configuration for mobile devices and provide the best solutions. It is expected that this technology can be quickly integrated into products such as tablet PCs and touch control NBs, etc.

ELAN Microelectronics, for many years has plowed deep into the touch control technology, has over 550 touch related patent applications with over 250 granted.
