Taiwan IC Revenue Total US$15.9B, 3.4% Decline On-Quarter

TAIPEI, Taiwan- The Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association(TSIA) survey showed that Q1 2014 Taiwan IC revenue as a whole totaled US$15.9B, 3.4% decline on-quarter and up 15.3% on-year, in which Memory was the largest growth compared to last year up 37.6% on-year of US$2.2B.

The Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association(TSIA) survey showed that Q1 2014 Taiwan IC revenue as a whole (including design, manufacturing, packaging and testing) totaled US$15.9B (3.4% decline on-quarter and up 15.3% on-year), with US$4.2B in design (3.0% drop on-quarter and up 23.8% on-year), US$8.2B in manufacturing (down 3.6% on-quarter and up 13.1% on-year; Foundry US$6.0B ,down 2.7% on-quarter and up 6.2% on-year; Memory US$2.2B, (down 6.1% on-quarter and up 37.6% on-year), US$2.4B in packaging (3.4% decrease on-quarter and up 11.8% on-year), and US$1.1B in testing (3.1% decrease on-quarter and up 9.8% on-year).

Taiwan IC revenue in 2014 is expected to reach US$71.6B (13% increase from 2013), with US$18.7B in design (15.9% increase), US$37.7B in manufacturing(12.6% growth; Foundry US$29.0B ( up 13.8%); Memory US$8.7B (up 8.7%), US$10.6B in packaging (10.8% increase), and US$4.7B in testing (up 10.2%).

According to WSTS, Q1 2014 worldwide semiconductor revenue reached US$78.5 billion, a year-to-year rise of 11.4% and down 1.8% on-quarter. Sales quantity reached 177.9 billion ICs, a 9.3% increase on-year and down 1.2% on-quarter. ASP was US$0.441, a 1.9% up on-year and down 0.6% on-quarter.

Semiconductor revenue in the US reached US$15.3 billion in Q1 2014, a 16.1% growth on-year and down 12.2% on-quarter. Revenue in Japan reached US$8.4 billion, a 0.4% increase on-year and down 3.8% on-quarter. Revenue in Europe reached US$9.2 billion, an 8.0% increase on-year and up 3.9% on-quarter. Revenue in Asia reached US$45.5 billion, a 12.9% increase on-year and up 1.4% on-quarter. Revenue in China reached US$20.7 billion, up 38.9% on-year and down 8.7% on-quarter.
