TAIPEI, Taiwan — 3D Printer is a new product and new topic in the market, but it doesn't mean it will make a good business at all. Kinpo Electronics once annouced that they are confident to ship out 100 thousand units of 3D Printer, source said that it now downgraded to 20 thousand to 30 thousand in this year.

Terry Guo, Chairperson at Foxconn Technology Group, used to comment that before investing, investors need to think about three things. Firstly, if it's the future technology. Secondly, if the company is in the leading status, for example, IoT and wearables not every company really knows it, but lots of companies said that they will focus on or develop Iot and wearables without the actual technology. Thirdly, core technology is important.

3D printing is like IoT and wearables, a new product and topic in the market. Lots of companies devoted themselves into it. However, judging the sales performance from some of it, 3D printing isn't really a good business so far.

Kinpo Electronics values 3D printing, but in the North America from January to July its 3D Printers only sold out 7 thousand units. Since the North America occupied the 50 percent of its market, estimated the whole year will be sold out 20 thousand to 30 thousand units, less than Xu Sheng-xiong, Chairperson of Kinpo Electronics' expectations, 100 thousand units.

Kinpo Electronics will unveil some new products by Q4, hoping to boost its performance.
