TAIPEI, Taiwan — Apple wrapped up its September 9 press event in California, where the U.S. electronics giant unveiled two larger iPhones, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the fingerprint-based Apple Pay for wireless mobile payment and its first wearable device, Apple Watch. However, its hardware specs compare poorly than those flagships from rivals and Tim Cook also left 6 unanswered questions to the world.

The new iPhones are available in two sizes for the first time, iPhone 6 features a stunning 4.7-inch Retina HD display with 1334 x 750 resolution, providing 38 percent more viewing area than its predecessor iPhone 5S.

The iPhone 6 Plus features an even bigger 5.5-inch Retina HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution, providing 88 percent more viewing area and nearly three times the pixels than iPhone 5S.

Both models pack an A8 chip with 64-bit desktop-class architecture for faster performance and better power efficiency, according to Apple.

Judging from the hardware specs, the new iPhones compare poorly than those flagships of Samsung, HTC, and some people even commented that the lastest iPhones as the high-end version of Xiaomi. The price of iPhone 6 starts from NT22,500, while iPhone 6 Plus starts from NT25,900, which means that people can buy two Xiaomi high-end handsets.

What's more, Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, still left 6 unanswered questions at the press conference, namely, detailed specs of Apple Watch are still unknown as well as the official release date. Why there is no sapphire glass to be seen in Apple's iPhone 6 display? The sales downfall of iPad isn't a news, as long as the big screen iPhones released, how is iPad going to survivie?

Moreover, Apple iCloud over nude photo leakage posed a threat to all the users, Tim neither said sorry nor at least explained it. The fingerprint-based Apple Pay for wireless mobile payment can be paired with iBeacon, but it hasn't been mentioned along with Smart TV also hasn't been said a word.

As Peter Drucker, a deceased American management consultant advised that, in order to survive, companies needed to: “innovate or die.” Apple was a pioneer indeed, but will it fall from a pioneer to a follower? Let's keep an eye on it.
