As SSD remains a substantial investment, Infortrend has integrated drive wear level monitoring and indication. Users get real time details on the status of every SSD, pre-empting potential problems due to unchecked stress. This feature safeguards SSD investment and promotes long-lasting optimized performance. Support for 4-level storage tiering is also a major enhancement. Leveraging SSD, SAS, and NL-SAS disks based on data hotness, it ensures systems can make the best of speed and capacity.

One more notable added feature is support for self-encrypting drives (SED), which come with a unique hardware key. As they are virtually unbreakable, SEDs protect data against physical theft or misplacement of drives, if without the key, drives become inaccessible. SED technology also expedites deletion, users simply invalidate the key, and all data is rendered irreversibly unreadable. This can help eliminate the cost of professional drive disposal services.

“EonStor DS systems deliver big on SSD optimization. Features such as 4-level storage tiering and drive wear indication help customers make the most of SSD performance and longevity. Our commitment to constant improvements in support of current and upcoming storage trends is absolute”, said Thomas Kao, Senior Director of Product planning at Infortrend.
