Acer Appoints Jerry Kao as President of Notebook Business Group

TAIPEI, Taiwan- Acer announces the appointment of Jerry Kao as president of Acer’s Notebook Business Group, effective December 1, 2014. Kao will be promoted from his current position of general manager in the business group, where he co-heads with Jackson Lin, president.

A seasoned professional of the mobile PC industry with almost 20 years of experience, Kao joined Acer in 1995 as engineer and has gained a deep understanding of the market through the various positions he served, from project management to marketing and branding of notebook PCs.

Jackson Lin, who concurrently serves as chief technology officer and as president of Acer’s Design Center while co-heading the notebook business with Kao, will be released from the latter role to focus on his core discipline of research and development.

Kao was born in 1969, and has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Tsing Hua University and MBA from the National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan.
