Intel is Ready for Wireless Charging Products

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Intel officially claimed that they are going to unveil a new handset that features the A4WP wireless charging technology in the early 2015, while the wireless charging tablet and laptop will be released by fourth quarter of 2015. Taiwanese firms hope that this will boost the current wireless charging situation.

There three three wireless charging leagues so far, namely, PMA, WPC (Qi), and A4WP. However, PMA and WPC are the first two earliest leagues to do the certification, A4WP is going to do the certification by the end of 2014. Though A4WP seems fall behind, it still has so many IT giants members like Intel, Qualcomm, MediaTek, Acer, Asus, HTC, and Foxconn.

Intel held a wireless charging technology forum in Taiwan in a bid to promote the wireless charging, and welcome more firms to join A4WP league. Many Taiwanese firms also demonstrated their wireless charging products.

Kumar Chinnaswamy, General Manager of wireless charging at Intel Experiences Group, said that the certifications for several smartphones using Intel's wireless charging solutions are “ready to go” and that these handsets could be launched in the first half of 2015. A4WP Chairperson Kamil Grajski emphasized that they will keep promoting the Rezence certification.
