ASMedia Teams Up with AMD in Developing Integrated Chipset

TAIPEI, Taiwan — ASMedia Technology, a subsidiary of ASUS teamed up with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) in developing the integrated chipset. ASMedia Technology claimed that the company is actively in fostering the next-generation high integrated chipset after launching the USB3.1 controller chipset, hoping to increase the competitiveness after the collaborations with international big firm.

ASMedia Technology General Manager Lin Zhe-wei said that many Integrated Circuit (IC) developers have already transferred the product line into applications like handset or panel, so the company has fewer and fewer competitors among the PC high-speed data transfer interface controller IC

Lin Zhe-wei suggested that the company is focusing on fostering the high-speed data transfer interface, Intel, AMD, and Broadcom are their customers. As long as in collaborations with those international big firms, which means the company is going to be the technology pioneer.

In the PC market, ASMedia Technology has the strong and tight relationship between Intel and AMD. This time the company teamed up with AMD in a bid to foster the new-generation integrated chipset, which will be put into mass production in 2015.

On the other hand, the USB3.1 (Universal Serial Bus) has been the highlight product of ASMedia Technology, the company has demonstrated the host-side and device-side of USB3.1 products.
