Western Digital Establishs R&D Center in Taiwan For Software Development

TAIPEI, Taiwan- Western Digital Corp.(WD), announced the establishment of new R&D center in Taiwan, for developing software of consumer and small/ medium enterprise stortage product. The new R&D center is located in Tai Yuan Science Park, Zhubei, Hsinchu County, has been officially put into operation.

According to WD, the headquarter of WD which based on U.S., decided to set up a new R&D center in Taiwan for expanding its software investment. In the early stage, this center will focus on the software development of NAS and personal cloud device, and increase the scale of this new center quadually.

Jim Welsh, Vice President of Global Content Solutions and Business Sales of WD said, “ Our costomers will access data any time and anywhere via different type of devices.”

“Therefore, an excellent innovative software is indispensable for providing comprehensive solution with easy-use feature. Taiwan has abundant human resources and experience in software development, this new R&D center will be significant boost for WD to provide remarkable user experience to our customers,”he added.
