Acer’s revenue has been under NT$ 400 billion for two consecutive years, with a YoY reduction of 8.43%. This is an 8-year low, and among the top five PC manufacturers, only Acer’s shipments have fallen from 2013.

Stan Shih stated that he is very satisfied with CEO Jason Chen’s performance, and with falling demand in the personal computer market, Acer’s performance is relatively good. Furthermore, if Acer continuously pursues growth in its business volume, it may create loses in the end. Therefore, it should reserve its valuable energy for a transition.

He anticipated that after a few months a new and burgeoning Acer will take the stage overseas, symbolizing that for over a year, Acer has been rearranging its layout and that its newly transformed model will formally come into being. The new Acer will have a model effect on the development of both Taiwan and Acer.
