Pixart's New Technology Will be Introduced After the 2nd Quarter

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Pixart is an advanced digital imaging IC design company, which specializes in CMOS image sensors and related image application IC design, research, production and sales. The company held a investor conference on February 10, forecasting there will be a new technology to be introduced after the second quarter.

Huang Sen-huang, Chairperson of Pixart, forecast that the company has been researching and developing sensor-related technologies, and it's time to harvest after the second quarter of this year. It's widely circulated that the company is going to merging with MediaTek, Huang also denied it.

Huang Sen-huang noted that after teaming up with Avago in licensing fee negotiation resulted in the company more concentrated on fostering other technologies. For instance, the gaming mouse has become one of its steady product lines.

The Chairperson also said that the application of wearables, smartphone, and health care are new growth drivers after the second quarter of this year. Regarding the roadmap of new applications, he commented that floating-type and gesture sensors will be next big things in the sensor industry that the company is ready for it.
