GOCC allows enterprises easy migration of current applications to the cloud while eliminating precious time and expensive cost for integrating software from different vendors. According to an estimate, over 50 percent of manpower and cost can be saved for enterprises to set up cloud services on Gemini Open Cloud.

Chiueh Tzi-cker, General Director of ITRI's Information and Communications Research Laboratories, pointed out, “Gemini Open Cloud has integrated the cloud system software and the cloud services orchestration onto an integrated platform. Thus, the end-user no longer needs to change his habit of using conventional software, and the IT administrator no longer have to manage the different applications from different consoles. GOCC has already been in commercial operation at National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu City Police Bureau, New Taipei City Police Department as well as the National Development Council E-government service website, which is now well prepared for marching on the corporate applications market.”

Tsay Ching-yen, ITRI Chairman, indicated that Gemini Open Cloud is the first technology team in Taiwan providing cloud system software and cloud application services. Its establishment marks a new milestone for upgrading and transforming Taiwan's cloud industry. In the past, Taiwan has focused more on hardware OEM manufacturing and was lagging behind the major American and European manufacturers in system software and the cloud industry.

GOCC provides enterprises and institutions with the necessary cloud system infrastructure for building private cloud. It permits corporate data centers to rapidly move the physical resources to virtualized cloud system architecture. It further integrates the frequently used application service software and reduces cost and time-to-market for enterprises, thereby enhancing their competitiveness.
