Foxconn to Assemble iPhone 6c: Analyst

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Though it is widely circulated that the 4-inch iPhone 6c will be released by this year’s end. However, according to the latest report from the KGI Securities’ Analyst Kuo Ming-chi, iPhone 6c is going to be launched in 2016, and Foxconn will be the major assembler.

After the launched of the big screen iPhone 6 series, it was understood that Apple will roll out the 4-inch iPhone 6c by this year’s end. Kuo Ming-chi said that iPhone 6c will be postponed until next year.

Despite the delayed of iPhone 6c, Pegatron and Foxconn, the stock price of two major Apple’s assembler partners were up on April 23, Pegatron’s stock price even surpassed Foxconn became the king of contract manufacturing services’ stock market.

Based on iPhone series tradition, the major flagship will be introduced at first, then followed up by the s series. Hence, iPhone 6s will be rolled out by this year’s end, before the release of iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6c.

Allegedly, with regards to the device's specs, iPhone 6c will likely have a similar design as the iPhone 5c, and possibly have the same hardware as the two-generation-old iPhone 5s, including a 4-inch screen, A7 processor with M7 motion coprocessor, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and 1,560 mAh battery.
