Samsung Foundry to Add 10nm FinFET to Its Process Roadmap

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Samsung Electronics announced yesterday that they are going to add 10nm to their foundry process roadmap with mass production scheduled from late 2016.

Hong Hao, Samsung Foundry senior vice president, discussed adding 10nm to their foundry process roadmap at annual press event. It is Samsung’s 3rd generation FinFET transistor and the copany indicated this node as a viable solution for those working on mobile, consumer electronics or networking chip designs.

In addition, Samsung Electronics have a full PDK and silicon-verified IP available, and are, currently, running MPWs now for customers.

With mass production scheduled from late 2016, Samsung Electronics are excited about this next phase of our foundry business. Early designs activities have already sparked some interesting discussions.
