The Dolby Vision VS10 universal HDR playback solution supports both dual-layer and single-layer Dolby Vision streams and other HDR formats based on the SMPTE ST 2084 standard. This enables displays to take full advantage of a combination of peak brightness, local contrast, and wider color gamut; the end result is a dramatically enhanced viewing experience in the living room.

“We are very proud to partner with Dolby to help our customers bring entertainment to life with devices powered by MediaTek SoC solutions using Dolby Vision VS10,” said Joe Chen, Senior Vice President, MediaTek.

“Dolby Vision VS10 provides a complete HDR solution, enabling our customers to deliver the highest-quality HDR images with the widest compatibility. This collaboration will ensure that we exceed our customers’ expectations and enable the delivery of the best 4K Ultra HD experience to consumers in the home.”

“We are thrilled to work with MediaTek to enable Dolby Vision on Ultra HD Blu-Ray, DMA devices, and TV sets. MediaTek is a critical enabler of the device ecosystem, and this collaboration will drive broad adoption of Dolby Vision across a wide variety of devices,” said Giles Baker, Senior Vice President, Broadcast Business Group, Dolby Laboratories.

“We look forward to working with our partners to bring the Dolby Vision experience to consumers everywhere.”
