Graphene is currently the world's thinnest, hardest and lowest resistivity material, is expected to be used to develop a thinner and faster electronic components with better battery efficiency, conductivity and thermal dissipation. It can be used for display panels, semiconductors and all kinds of batteries.
The workshop invited the Cambridge professor John Robertson, the project leader of EU graphene program, to lecture “Atmospheric pressure, non-flammable conditions for CVD of graphene”; Dr. Shu-Jen Han, IBM, on “Can Carbon Replace Silicon to Extend Moore's Law”; Dr. Y. C. Lin, AIST Japan, on “Exploring the single atom spin state in graphene by electron spectroscopy”; Mr. Ivica Kolaric, Fraunhofer IPA , on “Graphene’s potential impact in the internet of everything”; Prof. Liming Dai, CASE MSE , on “Multidimensional and Multifunctional Graphitic Carbons for Energy Conversion and Storage.”
Hu Zhu-sheng, organizer and Director of Mechanical and Systems Research Laboratories(MSRL) of ITRI, said that early 50 percent are filed by Asian countries, which shows that Asia is the main area of development and application of graphene.
MSRL has developed chemical synthesis method which can produce graphene powder with higher quality, to upgrade the application of graphene materials to another level.
