MediaTek Won’t Sell to Tsinghua Unigroup

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Jeffrey Ju, Co-COO of MediaTek said that there are lots of ways to cooperate with Tsinghua Unigroup like joint-stock in an attempt to share the engineers to develop 5G resource. Jeffrey Ju claimed that MediaTek won’t sell to Tsinghua Unigroup. Moreover, the company will unveil its Helio X30-series SoC chips in early 2016.

MediaTek, the world’s No. 2 handset chipmaker, said earlier this month it would adopt an “open attitude” toward collaborating with Chinese chipmakers to seek more growth opportunities amid escalating competition.

On the other hand, it is widely circulated that MediaTek is going to be sold to Tsinghua Unigroup.

“MediaTek won’t sell to Tsinghua Unigroup.” said Jeffrey Ju.

The Helio X30-series SoC chips will definitely be the important growth driver of MediaTek in 2016, The X30-series will be built by TSMC using the foundry's 16nm FinFET process.
