Nichia Corporation (Nichia) filed a patent infringement lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court against HTC NIPPON CORPORATION, a Japanese affiliate of Taiwanese HTC Corporation (HTC), and Kanematsu Communications Ltd., a distributor of HTC NIPPON CORPORATION, seeking an injunction and compensation for damages.

In this lawsuit, Nichia seeks an injunction and compensation for damages against HTC’s smartphone (product name: HTC Desire 626) equipped with white LED, which Nichia believes infringes its patents JP5177317 and JP5610056.

Nichia seeks to protect its patents and other intellectual property rights and takes actions against alleged infringers in any country where appropriate and necessary.
