Most Sensor Patents Focus on Measurement and Computer Technology, MIC Says

Taipei-based research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute) compared and cross-examined 22,612 sensor-related patents and found international assignees mainly focused on the fields of Measurement (27.2%), followed by Computer Technology (10.9%).

Thus, besides mainstream applications, perspective vendors are advised to pour their R&D resources in developing those untapped fields.”
