MIC industry analyst Xu Yu-chun pointed out that in the early stage of manufacturing VR products there are components shortages and manufacturing yield problems. However, Taiwanese businesses have a considerable advantages in the manufacturing of consumer products, and in 2017 the amount of orders is expected to grow dramatically. During the next few years, the conversion effect and demand for new orders will continue to ferment.

However, Xu Yu-chun warned that during the first half of 2017 OEMs need be conservative and observe from the sidelines. They will have to wait until the second half of 2017 for the real shipment numbers when key companies launch new products and the situation will be clearer.

MIC industry analyst Xu Yu-chun also stated that in 2016 high-end PC VR was the main force behind Taiwan's overall shipments.

Furthermore, according to revelations from an MIC research report, in 2017 the VR HMD shipments situation for Taiwanese OEMs will primarily involve taking on more orders from American, Mainland Chinese, and Japanese brands.

Institute for Information Industry (III) MIC industry analyst Xu Yu-chun also stated that although the amount of overall orders is not currently experiencing significant growth, from downstream brand name companies' product layout planning, we can see that leading brands will launch many new products in the second half of 2017. In addition, assembly orders will be entrusted to Taiwanese OEM companies; therefore, it is estimated that from the second half of 2017 and into 2018, in Taiwan orders for VR HMD OEMs will experience massive growth.
