Taiwan Indie Teams Make Huge Waves at BIC FEST

Taipei Game Show leads Taiwan Indie Teams to BIC FEST 2017

After receiving enormous precious suggestions from Busan Indie Connect Festival (BIC FEST) last year, Taipei Game Show led Taiwan Indie teams, including “7QUARK”, “Erotes Studio”, “LiRise Games”, “Noxy Games” and “SIGONO”, to participate the exhibition again in this September. Over 120 games showcased at there to exchange the game developing experiences and compete for the greatest award.

BIC FEST 2017 was held on September 15th-17th at Busan, Korea which is the 3rd annual festival. The local and foreign indie teams gathered together during the 3-day festival, bringing various mobile, PC, console, VR, and board games etc.

As the second consecutive attending, 7QUARK and Erotes Studio brought “Mr. Catt” and “Blue Blood Lagoon” respectively. “Mr. Catt” gave whole new definition of typical puzzle games by focusing on strategies, exquisite art design, aesthetic sound effects and great storyline. The local gamers gave great reviews to the game that make the game-related accessories of “Mr. Catt” sold out immediately.

“Blue Blood Lagoon” by Erotes Studio was another creative game, which was based on the historic incident in Penghu, after “Rainy Keelung” and “May Jasmine 1998”. Korean gamers were touched by storyline of “Blue Blood Lagoon” interpreted the hopeless to live under miserable times, which only love could arise their passion to survive. Also, everyone was anticipated to see the Korean version of this game in the future.

“School Rumble” created by LiRise Games was the hottest break time game in school recently. The developers created an “Easter Egg” in the gameplay, which all the gamers were obsessed with it so much. The target customers were teenager from age 7-15 years old. It was easy to control in order to aim for entire family playing together, and let the parents know more about the game industry at the meantime.

“OPUS: The Day We Found Earth” by SIGONO received “Excellence in Storytelling Award” at IMGA SEA, and the team released the sophisticated sequel ”OPUS: Rocket of Whispers”, which touched millions of gamers once again. The design of scenario included intertwining of lights and shadows, spirituality music, combining with exploration of universe and emotional connection. It attracted tons of people to experience during the three days of BIC FEST 2017.

“Lanota” by Noxy Games was known for its amazing rhythm that required full-attention to solve puzzles. Players could explore the map by adjusting the rhythm in game. The dynamic and high-quality music stunned the audiences so much on site. As the story goes, more variety music would be unlocked once the puzzles were figured out.

Taipei Game Show 2018 is now finding all indie teams from worldwide. INDIE GAME FESTA of B2B Zone will bring hundreds of global teams here to find business partners.
