The results of the study indicated that smart home devices have an approximately 30% usage rate, and the product brand which has been utilized by the most people is Xiaomi at 35.1%. Because hardware products are diverse and have low entry-level prices, they have become the products which account for the highest market share in the domain of smart homes. The brand names with the second and third largest market shares are kbro and Chunghwa Telecom respectively with 27.6% and 25.1% market shares. The two companies both have robust broadband user bases, which is a major advantage in promoting the smart home industry.

In the eyes of netizens, the most ideal smart home products are security monitoring products including “webcam monitoring systems” (31.3%) and “disaster prevention detection and notification” (26.5%), and the two products have a support ratio of approximately 30%. In effect, they could be considered the most representative of smart home products.

In addition, smart speaker products have also been receiving attention recently; however, they only account for 4.3% of the market. This indicates that the demand for voice-controlled products among Taiwanese netizens is still not as strong as the demand for monitoring devices.
