HOLTEK New HT45R6Q-2/HT45R6Q-3 Battery Charger OTP MCU
Published: Sep 01,20241369 Read
Holtek has further expanded its range of battery charger OTP MCUs with the present release of two new devices, the HT45R6Q-2 and HT45R6Q-3. When compared with previous generation products, in addition to retaining all the original advantages, these new devices have now added integrated high-voltage functions which include a 5V LDO with a low temperature drift and 36V withstand voltage and a 12V/300mA fan driver. When used together with charger volume production tools, customers have a means of rapid volume production thus reducing production line effort. These new devices are suitable for use in lithium battery and lead acid battery chargers for applications such as electric motorcycles, power tools etc.

The HT45R6Q-2 and HT45R6Q-3 have 2K/4K×16 of OTP Memory, 128/256×8 of RAM and 10/15 multi-function I/O ports. The 4/7 channel 12-bit A/D Converter can be used to measure voltage, temperature and other analog signals. There is also a group of OPAs with a gain of 20/40 to amplify small input current signals, which allows lower values of current detect resistors to be used. This increases the accuracy of the measured current and also improves conversion efficiency.
The HT45R6Q-2 is supplied in both 16-pin and 20-pin NSOP package types while the HT45R6Q-3 is supplied in a 24-pin SSOP package type. When used together with the charger development workshop, it allows users to easily select their required charging voltage/current values and other specifications. The development workshop is also able to generate program code which will contain generic lithium battery/lead acid battery charging code, resulting in greatly reduced product development times.
