Chinese New Year Urge 4KTV Demand, AUO Shipments May Increase

Chinese New Year holidays approaching, the market demand into the sales peak in 4K2K(UDH) TV, and AUO’s 4K TV panel shipments are expected to increase in the fourth quarter . AUO will add 42” and 50” 4K2K panel products since the fourth quarter to supply the China customer.

AUO said that will launch new 4K2k panel、curved display and wide-color-gamut panel in the Chinese New Year holidays .

Hsieh, vice president of NPD DisplaySearch said that the China market is the world 's most important markets for 4K2K TV , more than half of world wide, while the Chines New Year holidays is the most important selling season for China. He pointed out that most of AUO’s 65” and 55” 4K2K panel were delivered to SONY, AUO will add new product line of 42”and 50” 4K2K panel to China TV brands, helped shipments to rise.

He stressed that the global 4K2K TV shipments in this year estimated at 300 million units, 700 million units next year, driven by the brands and panel makers volume will be increased to 10 million units , so will AUO’s high-level panel shipments .

Hsieh believes AUO and other panel makers , will be actively promoting 4K2K TV panel next year, estimated global 4K2K panel shipments next year will fall 15 million units to 20 million units, of which AUO is 5 million units .
