MediaTek Target CPU Market , Call for Cross-Strait Cooperation

After the 2nd Cross-Strait Technology Forum, President Tsai expressed his view that now is the best time for both sides to develop CPU together.
Tsai stated that both Taiwanese and mainland china’s companies has global competitive advantage in some parts, such as branded end-use product, semiconductor technology and market scale. Under the circumstance, through closer and comprehensive cooperation between the upstream and downstream industry chain, the enterprise on both sides will definitely compete with foreign giant companies in EU, USA, Japan and Korea. Additionally, CPU will be the cooperative item, he stressed.
He pointed out that electronic industry in mainland china is growing fast, while some branded product, made by Huawei, ZTE and Lenovo, has entered into global market gradually. Moreover, mainland china’s huge market is the most advantage for china to set up self standards.
As for Taiwan, there are many electronics giants such as MediaTek, TSMC, ASE, Foxconn to provide R&D, system design, manufacturing, and other electronics supply chain integrity. It is an excellent strategic position for Taiwan and China, Tsai look forward to have more technology and personnel interflow to come out a new vision for Taiwan and China industry.
