VIA Teams Up with Mozilla for Firefox OS mini-PC

Mozilla expects that Firefox OS, an open source of internet technology to allow user constructing personal app, could be the 3rd solution following Android and Ios.

APC runs the Android system and built a full set of CPU, GPU, RAM, NAND FLASH and I/O ports, enabling APC’s motherboard to be alike a PC.

The two patterns of APC mini PC are motherboard and computer separately, naming Rock and Paper. “Rock” could be used to connect to any PC case and “Paper” is a computer with a unique case.

According to VIA, the design of Paper and Rock can preview the executing Firefox OS system on the Desktop to find out error and fix it, which is all focusing on the customs of adopter and user in early stages.

Mozilla, except VIA, has cooperated with ZTE to launch new Firefox OS smartphone. Moreover, Panasonic plans to introduce a new-gene smart TV based on Firefox OS.

Last year, the market unveiled 3 low-priced Firefox OS smartphones and particularly aim at the emerging market, namely the Alcatel One Touch Fire, the ZTE Open and LG Fireweb.
