TAIPEI, Taiwan-With the rising of big data technology and cloud computing , data center and cluster server have become a hot topic to all enterprises. In addition to investment in servers, switches and other IT hardware equipment, the management and arrangement of data center are another concern of data center. For this needs, Delta’s InfraSuite data center solutions entered the market since 2011, and has achieved some positive outcomes.
Tsai Wen-Yin, general manager of Delta critical infrastructure division, said that most method of customers to have data center are established internal computer room or IDC, outsourcing is still in a minority way. In the short term, this situation will not be significant changed.
In terms of Taiwan market, there are about 70% of needs to upgrade facilities, 30% of new installation, all of which can be fulfilled by Delta’s total solution. And Delta is hoping to acquire the biggest market share of Taiwan’s data center.
Tsai Wen-Yin noted that there are three total solutions providers of data center worldwide, Schneider, Emerson and Delta. Schneider and Emerson already have long history in the global data center market, have taken a very high market share, it will take Delta at least five years to catch up with this two.
But in the Taiwan market, Delta has advantage of providing technical services in depth and high C/P value, should not be a problem for Delta to get data center market share of 55% in Taiwan.
Tsai Wen-Yin said that most of the world's data centers are concentrated in the higher latitudes or colder place, to perform an excellent PUE value, but if came subtropical countries such as Taiwan, where with intensive buildings, the approach of setting up a data center will be different to existing solutions. But for Delta, the PUE value can reach about 1.5.
