TAIPEI, Taiwan — More and more manpower jobs are replaced by robot or AI devices. Is it good or bad to human beings? Experts have different point of views.
The American Pew Research Center collected opinions from 1,900 experts, which considered that automated cars, unmanned aerial vehicles, and robots are commonly seen in 2025, and even the robot can write news reports.
According to Pew Research Center, 48 percent of the expert stated out that robots or AI devices will destroy the job vacancies for human beings, also to enlarge the gap between rich and poor, which led to the disappearance of the middle class and growing unemployment rate.
However, other experts pointed out that the robot will change the current labor market, people don't have to do the numb yet boring repetition of works anymore that increased the manpower transformation, and creating more new job vacancies.
“Automation is (the 'Harry Potter' villain) Voldemort: the terrifying force nobody is willing to name,” said Jerry Michalski, Founder of Relationship Economy eXpedition, a think tank of corporate executives.
Vint Cerf, Chief Internet Evangelist for Google, said that historically, technology has created more jobs than it destroys and there is no reason to think otherwise in this case. Someone has to make and service all these advanced devices.
The report is based on views from nearly 1,900 respondents selected by Pew because of their background.
