Himax to Team up with Lenovo in Views of Wearables

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Many IT companies held investor conferences lastely, Himax Technologies is one of them, saying that the revenue in the quarter three will be increased 10 to 15 percent. Last year, Himax's LCOS has become part of Google Glasses' supply chain, the company is gong to team up with Lenovo in views of developing wearables this year.

Himax's performance was affected by Samsung's adjustment in inventory models in last season, now the orders have come back to them. The touch chipsets have doubled in shipment in this season, Himax is confident that the touch chipsets are going to thrive in the quarter threee and four. Also, Himax has teamed up with Lenovo in wearables.

Source said that Lenovo is going to unveil a C1 smart glasses in October, which has the similar outlook of Google Glasses that supports voice control, and can be weared like a necklace.

Shares of Himax Technologies are soaring 5.65 percent to $6.93 yesterday after the supplier of semiconductor products reported its second quarter earnings.
