Novatek: There Will be a Slow Growth in 2015

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Novatek Microelectronics, a display driver IC provider, on February 5 announced that consolidated net sales for January 2015 totaled NT$4,624,544 thousand. The company said that due to the slump in demand of smartphone, plus the inventory adjustments of system on chip (SoC), it might be a slow growth year. TDDI (Touch with Display Driver) will be launched before the forth quarter of 2015.

Wang Shou-ren, General Manager of Novatek, pointed out that the productivity of 8-inch wafer is still tight, the company will do diversification of wafer, and move closer to developing 12-inch wafer.
In response to the earlier news that MStar Semiconductor penetrated in manufacturing Samsung's display driver IC, Wang Shou-ren said that Novatek has a lot of Korean customers, he is not that worry about it.
However, Wang Shou-ren stated that TDDI won't be put into mass production that soon. TDDI (Touch with Display Driver) will be launched before the forth quarter of 2015.
