TAIPEI, Taiwan — Apple's biggest new product since the iPad, and its first all-new product line since that tablet debuted in 2010, will be trying to carve out a space for wearable tech on your wrist. Apple is going to hold a Apple Watch press conference in the US on March 9, Taiwanese tech analyst gave positive reviews on it, saying that it will be the major growth driver of wearables in the future.
Wei Ji-yi, tech Analyst in Taiwan, said that smartwatches have been released for years, but with poor acceptance. “Apple has been in leading status in technology products, once Apple Watch was a good sale, it would help wearables market grow 30 to 40 percent. If it was a poor sale, wearables would still be in the same situation as a pool of stagnant water as now.”'
“It is said that Apple Watch would replace car key, it is a brand new application for wearables. And its integration with iPhone is another limelight.” said another Taiwanese tech analyst Rocky.
Besides, there are two wearble operating systems: Android Wear and Tizen. Anroid Wear is a open system, wearables from SONY, Huawi, and ASUS supported it.
However, there are way too many sports wearables like that of HTC, Huawei, and ZTE. LG's latest Watch Urbane is designed as boutiques, and it is the first smartwatch that supported LTE network.
