Nuvoton is more actively working on penetrating the wireless charging market in 2015, and wireless sharing solutions are its limelight. In February, the company participated in the Embedded World 2015 in Germany.

MCU from Holtek received a Qi certification of WPC, and the company forecasts that getting the certification will be a boost to its wireless charging MCU shipments. However, the company predicted that wireless charging technology will be applied to small home appliances earlier that to smartphones.

The wireless products from ENE Technology Inc. also received a Qi certification of WPC, and the company said that the Chinese market will be its priority market in the early stages. Meanwhile, the company will demonstrate wireless charging technology and applications at Computex 2015.

In addition to Apple's MacBook Air's and Google's second-generation Chromebook Pixel's being adapted to the USB Type-C, the general demand for the Universal Serial Bus (USB) Type-C will also be soaring after the second quarter of this year. ASMedia Technology Inc., Etron Technology, and Genesys Logic are the main Taiwanese forces behind this Type-C technology.
