Xiaomi to Hand with Taiwanese OEMs Firms to Set up Plant in India

TAIPEI, Taiwan - President of Xiaomi, Lin Bin said yesterday, Xiaomi would work more closely with the Taiwanese supply chain, is currently working with FIH Mobile and Inventec Appliances to plan to set up factories in India. In addition, Xiaomi will open a " Xiaomi Fans Club " in Taiwan, which is the first overseas physical store outside the China.

Xiaomi phone is currently assembled by the FIH Mobile and Inventec Appliances, the other supply chain partners included MediaTek, AUO and Largan. Xiaomi forecasted that the shipments of Xiaomi phone this year was estimated at 80 million units to 0.1 billion units.
Lin Bin said that Xiaomi will strengthen sales in high population markets, including Southeast Asia, India, Russia and Brazil. And Xiaomi will team up with FIH Mobile and Inventec Appliances to set up factories in India, where need to discuss with the Indian government about the constructing location.
The Xiaomi Fans Club similar to Apple stores, primarily to provide users with on-site experience, product consulting and after service. It have opened in Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, Jinan and Chengdu, Taiwan will be the first oversea stop to setup Xiaomi Fans Club, which tentatively scheduled to open in May or June this year.
The Taiwan Xiaomi Fans Club located in Taipei, has recruited 10 employees. In addition, Xiaomi will set up two authorized repair centers in New Taipei City and Taichung in May this year.
