Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd. has a reputation for high OEM quality and efficiency, and is currently investing in research and development of electronic vehicle manufacturing. It hopes to replicate its OEM experience and assist clients in improving their manufacturing with short production cycles.

General Director of Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd’s Automotive Group, Lin Dong-liang stated that Hon Hai can provide key components to meet the global demands for electronic vehicles with more competitive production costs. However, he also emphasized that Hon Hai does not wish to develop its own brand, and instead seeks to provide better manufacturing conditions in order to improve clients’ products and shorten their production cycles.

Lin Dong-jjie also stressed that Hon Hai will not manufacture completed automobiles and that the overall design of vehicles is up to the clients. Hon Hai will just concentrate on constructing a platform to provide each client with assistance required for manufacturing.

Currently, Hon Hai and the Chinese companies, Baic Motor Corporation and China Harmony Auto Holding Limted have formed an alliance that will enter into electric vehicle sales and rental access.

Meanwhile, Hon Hai will also collaborate with Tencent to develop networking services for electric vehicles, while also developing its own parts and components and production capacities. Hon Hai already has a considerably flawless electric vehicle production capacity.
