Foxconn and NEC Collaborate on Cloud Service Enterprise

TAIPEI, Taiwan - According to a Nikkei Asian Review report, the Foxconn Technology Group and Japan’s NEC Electronics Corporation are collaborating on establishing a cloud computing enterprise in Mainland China and other Asian countries, and they will launch the cloud services as soon as the end of this year.

The report points out that the main reason for the collaboration between the two companies is to combine the benefits of NEC’s cloud-related technology with Foxconn’s data center and client network. In the future, NEC and Foxconn will set up servers for large-scale data centers in Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Guiyang, Guizhou and collaborate on marketing and sales.
Foxconn verified this information yesterday, however, for the time being the details of this mutual cooperation plan will not be revealed.
Currently Foxconn is actively developing its cloud enterprise, and in addition to collaborating with NEC it has also formed an alliance with China’s Alibaba in wireless networks and cloud services in Mainland China. In Taiwan, Foxconn is also entering the 4G telecommunications service market and establishing a cloud service center in Kaohsiung.
Foxconn Chairman Terry Gou stated that Foxconn will gradually move in the direction of supplier development for cloud services, 4G networks, and smart technology. He also pointed out that the future will be the 4G generation ,and 4G networking will be a deep part of people’s work, education, entertainment, socializing, safety, health, financial, and transportation orientations.
