A Fire Broke out at Unitech PCB Co. Tucheng Plant

TAIPEI, Taiwan — A fire broke out at the Xinbei City-based Unitech PCB Co. Tucheng factory on the evening of April 27, and 241 firefighters and 75 fire engines tried to tackle the flames, 621 employees were evacuated from the scene. However, there were tons of chemical substance stored at the factory, which took two hours to put it out. One employee was choke by the heavy smoke and sent to the hosital.
The fire department received a report at 10:25 p.m. on April 27, saying there were blaze and smoke spread throughout the rooftop of the six-story building of Unitech PCB Co. The flame was under control at 12:24 a.m. on April 28 according to the fire department.
The authorities are still conducting fire investigations on the scene.
Unitech PCB Co. is established at Tucheng Industrial Park in 1984, with economic growth and industrial development in Taiwan, beginning with producing Multilayer PCB (MLB) used in PC and upgrading to high-density interconnection (HDI) PCB used in smart device, continuing with outstanding talent, technology research and development.
The Company set up its Tucheng Plant No.2, Shanghai Unitech in 1996 and Yilan plant in 2010.
