Qisda Expands Its Industrial PC Capabilities By Buying DFI

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Qisda, a Taiwanese ODM/OEM services provider, yesterday announced that the company has bought 8.7% shares of DFI, a Taiwanese high-performance computing technology supplier, a total of NT$450 million by NT$45 per share, to increase its technological capabilities in the field of industrial PCs.

The main products of DFI are industrial motherboards, Computer-On-Modules, embedded SBCs and systems. Qisda said that DFI has many years of experience in IT, security, gaming and other vertical industry markets, those are perfect match with Qisda’s business, will give Qisda to have greater synergy through this investment.
Last year, Qisda has set up a new smart solutions business group, to provide smart total solutions. Qisda noted that new business group have six strategical domains, including the smart store, smart energy, smart enterprise, smart factory, smart hospital and smart school. DFI focus on smart enterprise which can be complementary to Qisda.
In addition, Qisda has bought 25% shares of Partner Tech Corp. by NT$0.2 billion last November. Partner Tech is a Point of sale (POS), peripherals and software provider, has many years of experience in POS channel.
